Sector Test Meeting 17th June 2005
Present: Verena, Brennan, Jorg, Roger, Paul, Mike (chair), Jan, Rolf
Linder, Rhodri.
Rolf Linder gave a update on the status of LHCb and
their attitude to the sector test.
Jan suggested that TI8 issues are also discussed in this forum. Agreed. He
presented some of the things that need to be covered during the foreseen TI8
tests in 2006. Doc here. To be discussed in detail near the event.
Should also test LSS6/LSS4 extraction switching.
With emphasis on what needs to be done over the next year Mike ran through
the potential issues. Slides here.
Extensive round table discussion. Main issues arising.
- Beam onto TDI rather than complete test - in extremis - would need Q5/Q4
cold, etc. - shouldn't last more than a weekend, keep it on the back burner as
an option. Worry about radiation constraints etc.
Plan/Time/Implications/Justification
- HWC - see planning updated following discussion
- Check status of Q6 during test
- Check status of vacuum system in injection region during test
- Instrumentation: BPMs - OK. BLMs - get Bernd in.
Screens - check status
- BCT - need to specify what and how (David Belohrad)
- Design of IR7 - need to get on to this soon - integration and planning
- check TED installation.
- Acceptance test - jog HWC's memory at some point
- Check installation schedule of 6-7 - would be easier to close at point 6
rather than installing a gate in the tunnel
- INB: need to check approval status
- Need define handing over keys for a month from the safety commission. See
