Going to have to watch the schedule. Beam line installation (vacuum, collimators, warm magnets) is foreseen before, during and after the injection test. Will have to make sure that there is enough room to get the dump in & out etc. and that installed elements do not impede proposed location of temporary dump and additional shielding.
Essential scheduling constraints for the injection test [see below for justification]:
To account for the preparation for the test, the test itself and the recovery from the test 4-5 weeks should be blocked out from work in IR7.R. Access to IR7.L will not be possible during the test itself and 2-3 days immediately after the test.
Transport constraints through IR7: block out 4 weeks plus or minus a couple of days. Some edge effect optimisation possible if required.
Constraints after test: IR7.L will probably be a supervised area for some time. Need to be a category B radiation worker (personal dosimeter) to pass through zone. Implications for transport and subsequent installation in this region.
See near test schedule for details
R.Valbuena has presented details of the integration of IR7, covering the layout of general services and machine elements in the region.

The vacuum group have their baseline layout which is the final configuration. A integration layout of the zone with the temporary beam dump would have to be produced. This would mean around one week's work on Paul Cruikshank's side and another one week's work for the 3-D mock-up.
Positioning of dump is clearly important (situation around RR77 is crowded)
Option 1: Q6 in and cold. Temporary beam pipe straight out of Q6 to temporary dump. Dump somewhere between D3.R7 and D4.R7 positions. Have to come beyond position of D4 to avoid the QRL return module. A temporary vacuum pipe would be necessary from the cold section to the beam dump. Cost: around 3000 CHF per 7 m. (pipe reusable, thus cost recoverable). Preparation and installation would take 2 to 3 man weeks. Propose 4 sections of 7 m. to get beyond D4 and give us a bit of room to install BCT, screen etc. Or baseline the first part from 20216 to 20203, one section of 7m., put into the fast BCT and then two sections of 7 m.
Vacuum pipe stops a few cms. before dump, titanium window.
Baseline Vacuum layout [to D4]
[Option 2: If Q6 & DFBM isn't installed - place dump at position of option 1. Need to run temporary vacuum chamber (extra 35 m) from Q7. Examine cryogenics flow scheme.]
