Injection test 2 (6th - 9th November)

Progress report

Friday 6th November Preparation for test, final patrols etc.
7th - 8th November

Second injection test.

  • Inject left of IP2, through Alice, sector 23, dump beam on collimators in IR3.
  • Inject right of IP8, through LHCb, sector 78, dump beam on collimators in IR3.
  • If S67 is ready, beam 2 to beam dump in IP6, few shots to 5 if possible.

Aim to finish early in S23 to allow access first thing on Monday.
Monday 9th Finish with beam at 06:00. Followed by RP checks.
20th November First beam around LHC - estimate as of end October if HWC goes to plan.

Program with S67/S56 available  - last update 10:40 Saturday 7th November

 

Provisional program - with only S23 and S78 available

(Should S67 be available, we'll hit that and S56 first to check threading etc. and then switch to S23 to finish essential measurements there before a systematic look at S67, S56 and the dump region.)
